We had a great week's rehearsal. The Principals finished their dialogue and the chorus started Munchkinland on wed with Martina. Many thanks to Kerry for helping with singing and warmups in absence of Mairead. It was a great help.

Chorus Rehearsal for Munchkinland is on Wednesday in St Mary's with Mairead and Martina.

Apologies for delay but there are some quick scene changes in the show which means some people will be in some scenes and not in others. This is proving tricky to sort out. All will be explained on wednesday night.
However rehearsals will be every Wednesday from now on and will increase to Sundays from 26th of February. All times will be given on Wednesday.
Principal rehearsals will continue to be every tuesday with Bill unless otherwise instructed.

Rehearsals will continue with tuesdays for principals and wednesday for chorus. However due to the large number we have, and the structure of the show, the chorus will be split in different scenes. Everyone who is needed for rehearsals this week will be contacted and the information will also be on the website.
We still have space for adult chorus members and anyone interested in taking part is asked to come along on wednesday night at 8pm to Studio 55, main street, Arklow. However you must be transition year age or over.

"Strictly Come Dancing" was a resounding success last night. Over 500 people crammed into the Arklow Bay Hotel to support the Celebrity Dancers and the Charities & Local Groups they were representing.
The standard of dancing was very high and all the contestants had been rehearsing really hard for the past number of weeks. Congratulations to all the competitors.
Ann Walker representing the Arklow Viking Special Olympics and Avonmore Chairman Rob Donnelly were the overall winners. Marion Galvin representing the Arklow Rocks and her dance partner Tomas Byrne were the runners up.
The presenters for the evening were Jim Furlong and Elaine Sweeney and they ensured the evening went without a hitch. The judges were Proud Prizzy, Martina Lynch and Colm Moules and they were cheered and booed by the large crowd depending on their scores. Kerry Reid and Mick Russell manned the door and Sean Hendley was also there to help out. Kane Molloy and Amy Penston looked after sound and Society President Padraig Reid was there to keep an eye on proceedings.
Chairman Rob Donnelly thanked Niamh Dunne and Tomas Byrne who were the organisers of the event and said that "Strictly Come Dancing" would not have happened without their drive and determination.
He also thanked Martina Lynch for all her help and for the use of "Studio 55" for all the couples to rehearse in.
